THE AUDI Q7 BOSE AMPLIFIER
Audi Q7 2006 – 2015
This amplifier is found in all models of Audi Q7 from 2006 onwards. Check the speaker grilles for the Bose logo and it’s a safe bet you have this amplifier installed.
We have a 95% repair success rate with these amplifiers but would always suggest you open it up and send us a picture of the circuit board so we can assess it’s damage (if any is visible).

Diagnosing the problem
More often than not, you can identify the amplifier as problematic (especially signs of water damage) when any of the following issues raises it’s head :-
- No sound at all
- Your battery drains quickly
- Your headunit (MMI) screen doesn’t appear
- You lose one of your sound channels
The Q7 models often suffer water leakage, the panoramic roof being a prime suspect. Quite often the sunroof edges split at the back corner allowing water in.
We recommend removing the amplifier and sending us an image of the circuit board and we can tell you straight off whether it can be repaired.

What we can’t repair
If the amplifier has caught fire, smoked or you smelt burning, then it’s often likely we can’t repair it. Again, opening your amplifier and sending us a clear image of the circuit board will allow us to give you a better idea of whether it is repairable.
How to remove your amplifier
Removal of this unit is quite tricky and requires a few basic tools, we recommend the following :-
- A trim removal tool
- Long nose pliers
- A T30 Torx
- An 8mm and 10mm Nut spinner
In both American and European versions of this car, the unit can be found in the rear on the right hand side.
